Coronavirus Updates (Updating)
As source gathering for my project, I take notes on some news or informal videos on the recent updates on coronavirus. I want to depict coronavirus as a human-like functioning society. Though there will be exaggerations and alterations for narrative reasons, I want my content to be fact-based.
This is short video clip posted on January 2021 was about the story of a Russian woman who was diagnosed with Covic-19. Because she has a condition that causes her to have a low functioning immune system, the virus remains in her body for months. Yet within this time span, the coronavirus in her body has developed 18 different variants, some of them were variants found outside of Russia where she does not have contact.
I ran into this video by surprise in February. The uploader of this video talks about the recent finding of Covic-19. The video talks about the approximately 7000 coronavirus variants that were found in India and also the expanded variant found in California that was said to increase death troll 11%. He also touches on the prominent variant that expanded rapidly in South Africa. Yet, he also clarifies that not all mutations of the virus are significant like the variant virus strain in South Africa. He also observes that the variants in MDCs like the US seem to be mutating towards a higher death toll rate as the variants in LDCs seem to be mutating towards higher spreadability and concealability.
